What we offer…

Experience the serene beauty of Dunethin Rock Scout Camp, perfectly nestled by Lake Dunethin and the Maroochy River, offering well-kept camping areas and excellent facilities, including a covered space for activities during rainy weather, complete with an attached camp kitchen for your convenience.

Campers are welcome to bring your own watercraft and take time to explore the Maroochy River Trail or Lake Dunethin.

We have 3 campfire areas for you to use for campfire cooking or socializing. The perfect place to escape for some back to basics camping.

Spend  the day watching the abundance of birds and wildlife around the grounds and surrounding water ways. Home to 100’s of species of birds you will struggle to find your favorite one to photograph.

100% of profits go back into improving our facility.

drinking Water and toilets

Our amenities block has gas hot showers and flushing toilets. We rely solely on rain water, ultraviolet sterilization units have been installed.

Supporters of scouting program

Scout managed campsites are generally restricted to official members and supporters of the Scout Movement. Members of the public have opportunities to sign up as a “Supporter of Scouting” with the payment of the annual subscription fee.

This entitles the supporter, and his/her immediate family, to camp on a range of Scouts Queensland campsites that accept public camping during the term of the subscription (12 months);

Other conditions:

  • No single camping period would be permitted to last more than fourteen (14) consecutive nights.

 

 

Water activities - canoe hire

Lake Dunethin is ideal for canoeing and other water activities. Unfortunatly we cannot hire watercraft to the public but you are welcome to BYO.

The Maroochy River is within walking distance and has a boat ramp for public use.and Lake Dunethin is across the road

The Maroochy River Canoe Trail is located in the heart of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast on the Maroochy River. It is around 30-kilometers long, and the upper reaches start at Lake Dunethin, a main entry point with disability access.

From Lake Dunethin, paddlers can paddle north to George Best Park which is located east of the Bruce Highway, or south to Coolum Creek, the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary and Mangrove Islands, into the lower reaches of the Maroochy River.

Are you dog friendly?

Well trained family friendly dogs are welcome.                  Dogs to be on leash at all times.                                            All dropping to be put in dog waste bags and disposed of in general waste bins provided.
